A is for Anise is a book created based on love of herbs and a fascination with how herbs work with our body system.
The book blends science and whimsy to teach readers about medicinal plants one page at a time. Each alphabet letter introduces a medicinal herb that comes with a rhyme connecting the plant with its medicinal benefit. In addition, readers are encouraged to practice Latin names, pretending they are holding a wand and casting a spell.
The author applies knowledge learned through a Master of Science in Herbal Medicine program from the American College of Healthcare Science and a herbal apprenticeship at Misty Meadows Herbal Center.
