Every day, 7,000 Americans are injured at work and enter a workers' compensation system that most of them didn't know existed five minutes earlier. What follows is a labyrinth of paperwork, phone trees, and bureaucratic processes that too often treats injured human beings as claim numbers to be managed rather than people to be restored. In Thank You For Holding, Bob Wilson - an industry veteran with more than two decades of experience in the workers' compensation space - takes readers on a guided tour of a system that is simultaneously indispensable and maddeningly broken.
Equal parts critique and blueprint, the book makes the case for "Workers' Recovery," a practical framework for transforming the century-old system from one that manages claims into one that restores lives. With the sharp humor of someone who has spent years watching the absurdities from the inside and the conviction of someone who believes the system can - and must - do better, Wilson challenges every stakeholder in the process to stop putting injured workers on hold and start putting them first.
