The Silence of a Man Called Alf follows a wandering artist searching for truth and the good. Through his own suffering and struggle, and in a world that often refuses to see him, he drifts through place, people, and art on his way towards beauty. In this wandering, Alf looks to the sea to make sense of the world's chaos. He finds himself on this quiet and episodic pilgrimage towards the slowing act of silence. The story is told in poetic, meditative prose that hones the soul of Alf into a wandering, as it encounters the silence of intimacy with reality.
